While likely influenced by preconceived sentiment, coming into Columbia felt different. The country side flirted between wild and powerful and then pristine and intentional. After a long bus ride, we were quite excited to be in the long-awaited Columbia!

We took a cab from the bus station to our hostel in Bogota, which was perhaps on the narrowest and busiest street of young people enjoying a Saturday night. The cobblestone streets were rugged and the local youth eccentric. After checking in, we found a small restaurant to share an average meal for dinner and didn’t feel comfortable going on a night adventure walk, so we went back to the hostel to see what we could do with our partial time in Bogota the next day.
