Feel More Fulfillment: Prioritize Project Completion

PRIORITIZE PROJECT COMPLETION FOR MORE FULFILLMENT

Finishing a work day feeling like you “didn’t get anything done” is not going to keep you inspired to do it all again tomorrow.

Whether our day is generally predictable or not, we can choose to prioritize completing tasks, projects and goals that will bring us fulfillment, letting us better enjoy our non-work time and fuel our next day of work.

One of the Empowering Principles of Inspiration is that an inspired activity ends in fulfillment, while happiness eventually ends in disappointment. For me, I experience temporary happiness jumping around from project to project because it’s more difficult for me to focus on one project until completion. My sewing room and boxes of partly finished projects is perfect proof of my “squirrel” personality type.

I love creating; completing is my real challenge. By following temporary happiness, I’m left disappointed with the lack of progress felt after a long day of work.

If I want to feel good about spending my time, I have to focus and finish something. Not only do I feel better about myself, knowing I’m capable of pushing through the homestretch that normally deters me, but now I see the fruits of my labor, I reap the benefits, and I get to cleanly move on to the next project (back to my creating space).

And when we complete small tasks or large projects, we must celebrate and really take it in. Let the satisfaction fully fill us with positive energy and fuel for what’s next!
