HAPPINESS

Potentially contingent on uncertain future events

INSPIRATION

Completely in the present

When happiness is hinged on people, events or circumstances out of our control, we have very little influence over what “makes” us happy. But it’s easy to influence feeling inspired, which leads us to the true happiness we desire and deserve!

Too often we try to get happy by seeking external sources for happiness, but we’d be better off working with what we can influence. Since we can easily choose to get inspired in any moment, we can always influence how inspired we feel. We have complete choice in how much time we devote to activities that inspiring us. Even when we have a flood of competing priorities, we can choose to let simple daily activities inspire us by indulging in their inspiring qualities.

What rituals do you have in the morning that you can further enjoy? Whether it’s a morning cup of coffee, meditation, or cooking breakfast, choose to connect with the inspiring aspects that resonate with you and breathe them in fully, letting their positive energy recharge you and fuel your day!

Happiness Example: I have so many emails to get through before I get into the office… I just finished my coffee without even realizing it! Oh well, off I go or I’m going to be late!

Inspired Example: I love my morning coffee. I’m going to enjoy every sip like a ridiculous coffee commercial where you can tell each sip is a divine moment! I’m going to let the taste and aroma fill me with inspired energy to kick my day off right!
