Inherent Inspiration Pre-Requisite: Being Present
Inspiration is how we completely lose and definitively find ourselves in the present.
When you are breathing in the aroma of your favorite coffee, witnessing a breathtaking view, mountain biking on your favorite trail, or about to cross the finish line in your first marathon, you don’t needing anything more in the moment to feel fulfilled. Everything else fades away. You literally cannot experience true inspiration if you are not completely present in that moment.
Being present leads to a healthier mindset for many reasons, including reduced stress, reduced worrying and greater acceptance of our true circumstances so that we can face them and move on.
Comparatively, if we’re focused on what’s next, what could happen, or those “I’ll be happy when’s,” we are missing the opportunity to connect with ourselves, be fulfilled and be inspired in the present moment. Living by the “I’ll be happy when’s” can unnoticeably become an excuse to defer dealing with present circumstances or to defer self-acceptance.
Happiness is a break from the present and inspiration is immersed in the present. When we are inspired, we experience authentic joy, elation, freedom, and self-expression, experiencing reality at its best!
